Just Announced: New Wound Care Certificate Course

wound care certification training course introduction to wound management

BIG NEWS! We have just launched a 23-hour Wound Care Certificate Course

– this course is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to brush up on their wound management skills! This wound care certificate course will serve as the basis for evidence-based wound management.

Foundation for Wound Care Knowledge

Based off of our expertise and valuable feedback from our past customers, we saw a need for a quick wound care course. This course allows professionals to explore their interests in wound care and decide if they should pursue full wound care certification. Our 23-hour course will provide the foundation to later expand your wound care knowledge and practical management.

This new certificate course is ideal for employers looking to train their staff on wound care basics, current treatment options, and industry guidelines. Compared to our other courses, this wound care course is a much shorter version of our full courses, focused on highlighting the most important aspects of wound care. Unlike our other courses which are specific to your current professional title and experience, this course is a simple “one-size-fits-all” solution that anyone interested in wound care can take.

What is an evidence-based program?

Both healthcare methods and wound care technology are constantly evolving. Programs that provide evidence-based solutions can help standardize current wound management and provide the best outcomes possible. Evidence-based solutions are ones that provide scientific evidence for treatment options actually work. Quality research plays an important part in the development of our evidence-based wound care certificate courses.

Group Discounts & Continuing Education Information

Like our regular wound care certification courses, group discounts are available for those that meet the eligibility criteria. (*link to group discount info). If you are interested in taking our wound care courses for continuing education hours, we advise you to take one of our full courses available here – any one of these full courses will provide you with up to 60 CE hours.

  1. Had years of wound treatments and company base inservices each month with Britthaven and Neil medical. 200bed facility will follow up in 23hr course to get started any more info available thanks

  2. What is the difference between the new wound care certificate( 297.00) course and the more expensive one( 797.00) ??? they both offer certificates, right? ??

    1. Hi Stephanie, Yes, they both provide certificates of completion. The certification courses are much more detailed and provide CE hours and a training kit that is shipped to your home. The certification courses will prepare you to pass the nationally accredited wound care certification exam. The certificate course is less detailed and will NOT prepare you for the exam, however, will provide a very detailed overview of evidence-based wound management.

    2. So I’m interested in trying to obtain a wound care certification. I have 11years of CNA experience as well as 7 years of LPN experience and recently I obtained my RN license. I have always worked in LTC, and have managed our wounds/treatments for the residents on a daily basis. My question is would that experience be enough to be eligible to take the courses that are offered?

      1. Brandy, we applaud your commitment to the healthcare industry! To sit for the certification exam, you will need to show three years of clinical experience. The ABWM defines three years of clinical experience as follows:

“Three years of wound care experience can be acquired over the course of your career. It does not necessarily have to be a consecutive three years. Wound care does not have to be your primary responsibility during that time, as long as you can demonstrate you have had roles related to wound care throughout your career.”

Please contact us if you have any further questions.

  3. I have been an RN for almost ten years working in a hospital setting in California. Wound care nurse is always my passion and working in the hospital allows me to obtain a hands on experience to care patients with different types of wounds. Any advice how to go about to pursue my passion? Certification valid nationwide??

    1. Hi Judith,

Thank you for your interest in WoundEducators.com.

Our course and the accredited wound care certification are both recognized in CA.

There are no eligibility requirements to take our course.

If you do not have the required clinical experience at this time, please contact us so that we can provide you with alternative options.

As an RN we recommend our RN Wound Certification Course.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
