Nutrition for Wound Care Certification
Wound care is a critical aspect of healthcare that requires comprehensive and multi-disciplinary care. Proper nutrition is one of the key components of wound care. Nutrition is essential to provide energy and nutrients to the body for healing and repair. Therefore, a certification in nutrition for wound care is crucial for healthcare professionals.
NWCC® Certification Eligibility
In order to gain the NWCC® Certification, you must be currently a Registered Dietician (RD), and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
RDs and RDNs must also meet the experience requirement of having practiced at least one year full-time or two years part-time as an RD or RDN within the last five years.
Like many other NAWCO® wound certifications, the NWCC® certification has three pathway options, including the experiential, continuing education, and training course pathway.
At WoundEducators, we provide certification courses in nutrition for wound care. Our Dietitian wound care course meets the educational requirement of the NWCC® exam. Our Dietician wound care course was designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge needed to pass the NWCC® certification exam.
NWCC® Certification Cost
The NWCC® certification costs $380, which consists of the initial NWCC® certification exam fee and a non-refundable processing fee. If a candidate fails to arrive for a scheduled exam without giving the required notice, an additional rescheduling fee of $125 will apply.
The NWCC® certification is valid for five years.
NWCC® Passing Score
A passing score of 79% is required to become NWCC® certified.
